27 Weeks

Well, no pictures this week because we didn't do too much exciting stuff. We worked on unpacking, cleaning, and organizing more this weekend around the house. I can't clean enough of the house lately, so I must have hit that "nesting" characteristic in the pregnancy now. Part of it is also that Amy and Eliza (two of my three sisters) and their families are coming to stay with us this weekend, and we wanted the house ready by then. They both have three kids, ranging from 1 to 5, so our house will go from 2 to 12 in less than 24 hours. We're so excited to have them come to hang out; Only 4 more days!
Some of our big purchases this week were a new dresser for the nursery (it hasn't been delivered yet) and some handles for our cabinets. Some of them were a little tough to open without handles, so we bought some that we liked at Home Depot and started installing those. I'll have to take a picture of the final outcome once they're done.
Saturday, we met our friends, Paul and Marissa, at The Old Spaghetti Factory for dinner. They followed us back to our place for a tour of the new place. Marissa is about 12 weeks pregnant with their first, so we had a lot to talk about. It's always fun exchanging stories with a fellow pregnant woman! Yesterday we went to church, came home, and watched Casino Royale. As dinner was cooking, we heard an enormously loud boom that echoed for about 5-10 seconds. We figured out that it was thunder! That's the loudest thunder we had ever heard. We looked outside for signs of lightning, but didn't see any nearby.
Our dog, Buddy, turned 2 yesterday, we're so proud! He got a new bone to chew on, but was pretty ungrateful so that was all he got.
I had the worst night last night! I woke up twice with a leg cramp, and the second time I woke up, I couldn't get back to sleep for an hour. First it was the leg cramp, then a stuffy nose (I may be getting my fall allergies early this year), then I couldn't breathe very well, ugh! This pregnancy insomnia sucks. On a happier note, though, I can feel the baby moving and hiccuping every day, which gets me so excited for his arrival in a few months. My mother-in-law is throwing a baby shower for me this weekend while my sisters are in town, I'm so excited!

I remember my nose getting all stuffy when I was pregnant. It wasn't because of allergies though since I don't have them, just another pregnancy symptom.
