Cozumel, Mexico

Hola! After many hours of layovers, we finally walked in the door last night (er... this morning) around 2:30 a.m. Our flight from Cozumel was delayed an hour, and then our flight from Dallas/Fort Worth to Salt Lake was delayed about 2 1/2 hours. Luckily, Rhett and Tiffany picked us up at the airport when we got there, and we ate dinner with them. It was great to see them! If we were thinking, we should have just delayed that last flight until tomorrow so we could have spent the weekend with them. Oh well, better luck next time.
Mexico was amazing! It was so great to just relax by the pool and not have to worry about work, or anything else going on. We didn't take advantage of too many of the other tours going on, just because we weren't there long enough to relax by the pool AND plan a bunch of other stuff.
I gotta go shower since we're going out to Red Robin tonight with Cassidy and Bryce, and some of their friends. But, I already uploaded all of our pictures into my "My Pictures" link, so feel free to check those out when you have a chance! Make sure you look at both albums, I divided them into two albums since there were over 100 pictures. I'll write more later.

Rodeo fun

Just thought I'd share a funny pic from the rodeo. Doug and I went to the Strawberry Days Rodeo in Pleasant Grove on Thursday. I'll admit, the main reason I wanted to go was for their strawberries. They give you a little bowl of them, cut up, and pour cream over them. SO good! This picture shows when they let this calf loose with a bunch of $1's taped to a blanket over his back, and all these kids chased it around until all the money was gone. This cow put up a fight! Anyway, we need to get packing for Cozumel, so that's all I'll write for now!

Time flies

I can't believe it's already June 20th! Where did the time go? We're leaving on Monday for Cozumel, Mexico, and we're SO excited for the break. Work is so hectic this week that the break will come just in time. My passport finally came yesterday (it's about time). They quoted me 10 weeks, and it took over 11. They said Doug's would come before mine since his was just a renewal, but his is still processing. Sheesh! At least we can still go with proof that he registered for a new one. We haven't started packing, but I figure we have all weekend to do that.
I had an OB appointment last Thursday, we got to hear the heartbeat again. Pretty cool stuff. It took the doctor like two minutes (or it seemed like it, anyway) to find the heartbeat, so Doug and I were really nervous. Luckily, she finally found it, and the baby was kicking like crazy! Doug got to feel a kick for the first time on Father's Day, what a great present! We went to Texas Roadhouse on Saturday night to celebrate Father's Day, then went to this fetal photo place in the mall. Turns out, they do it by appointment only, and the doctor already left for the day. LAME! We were okay with that, we don't mind waiting a couple more weeks to find out what it is. Our ultrasound is scheduled for Friday, July 6th, so I'll keep you all updated. I got a call back from the nurse today about the blood test I did to find out if the baby has any genetic disorders, and it turns out they call came back negative. We wanted to do it because we thought it would be easier to take the news before the baby came, rather than find out when it's born, so we could be prepared for it.
I didn't take any pictures this weekend, but everyone keeps telling me that I'm not even showing. Doug keeps telling me that I say this every day, but I need new clothes. My pants are REALLY starting not to fit, I can't even zip them up anymore. The maternity shirts are all still too big, however.
Monday, I weeded our garden for an hour, it really needed it! We have a bird feeder in the corner, and all these seeds fell and grew into weeds. This time, I bought the sunflower seed kind, which the shells still fall, but they will decompose without growing weeds. Then, we had a dessert and game night with a couple neighbors: Mike and Nicole, and Paul and Marissa. We played three rounds of Sequence, and I didn't win once. Doug won twice, I say he and Mike were cheating. Last night was enrichment, which wasn't too much fun for me. But, I'm on the committee, so I'm required to go. Tonight is just lounging while Doug works late, which is a nice break, and tomorrow, we're going to the Pleasant Grove rodeo. Their fair is called, "Strawberry Days", and they sell the best strawberries in cream that I've ever tasted. I mainly want to go just for that. I'll remember to take lots of pictures on vacation!

16 1/2 Weeks

Doug and I bought a membership awhile back to this resort in Midway called Zermatt. With the membership, we got a couple free night stays, a buy one get one free night stay, free mini golf, free access to their indoor/outdoor pool when we stay the night, and a bunch of other discounts and memberships. We ended up going there on Saturday to check it out and possibly go swimming. The drive up was about 45 minutes, and it was beautiful. We didn't find out until we got there that we couldn't swim unless we stayed the night, so we ended up mini golfing. Doug will be happy to know that I wrote on here that he won. He said, "I don't even feel bad, I never win!" It was a good time.

We then ate dinner at Schneitter's, their buffet there. It was the night for prime rib and ham, and it was all SO good! We receive 50% off each time we go, so it was worth it. Our neighbors, Mike and Nicole, got the membership also, so we're excited to go up there with them in July for a night, so the guys can go golfing, and Nicole and I can go to the spa.
We had dinner at Doug's parent's house on Sunday, and then Doug and his brothers went to a missionary fireside while I socialized with his parents, Cassidy, and Bryce. Last night, we made mexican dip, and chowed down over hot dogs. I had a dentist appointment today, and and OB appointment on Thursday. I should find out when we're doing the ultrasound on Thursday, so we're excited for that! I'm almost 17 weeks, and she said we'd do the ultrasound between 18 and 20 weeks. So hopefully we'll find out soon what we're having!
Our trip to Cozumel is less than two weeks away now, so we're ecstatic for that. We really need the vacation, so it will be great. I only wish it was going to be longer than five days. Oh well, I'll take what I can get.

New pictures

Busy weekend! We went out for sushi with our friends Rachel and Brady Friday night after my HOA meeting, then out to Cold Stone. We went back to their place and hung out for awhile afterwards, where Doug and Brady played on their Wii. Saturday was busy busy! I went to Rod Works with Rachel (a really cute home decor store) and bought an iron star that I hung on our front door, painted like an American Flag. I also got a napkin holder and some magnets. I came home and Doug and I went grocery shopping. We came home with our hands full, changed, and went to the zoo for his company party. We had fun walking around (in the shade, I think the high was in the high 80's/low 90's yesterday)and looking at the animals. If you check out my pictures, you'll see pics of the white alligator on loan from Louisiana, one of the gorillas, and giraffes. They also had a bird show where we saw a golden eagle and bald eagle in flight. We then left and stopped by our friend's Matt and Christy's house for a bit, and saw their son, Joshua. After that, we stopped by my friend Jessica's wedding reception. She looked beautiful! We didn't stay too long since we were worn out from the rest of the day. I get a little light-headed when I overdo it now.
Today we relaxed before church, went to church, and came home and had steaks and mashed potatoes and gravy. We went downstairs after dinner and set up a storage shelf we bought a couple months ago. It's so nice to have all that off the floor, ick!
