27 Weeks

Well, no pictures this week because we didn't do too much exciting stuff. We worked on unpacking, cleaning, and organizing more this weekend around the house. I can't clean enough of the house lately, so I must have hit that "nesting" characteristic in the pregnancy now. Part of it is also that Amy and Eliza (two of my three sisters) and their families are coming to stay with us this weekend, and we wanted the house ready by then. They both have three kids, ranging from 1 to 5, so our house will go from 2 to 12 in less than 24 hours. We're so excited to have them come to hang out; Only 4 more days!
Some of our big purchases this week were a new dresser for the nursery (it hasn't been delivered yet) and some handles for our cabinets. Some of them were a little tough to open without handles, so we bought some that we liked at Home Depot and started installing those. I'll have to take a picture of the final outcome once they're done.
Saturday, we met our friends, Paul and Marissa, at The Old Spaghetti Factory for dinner. They followed us back to our place for a tour of the new place. Marissa is about 12 weeks pregnant with their first, so we had a lot to talk about. It's always fun exchanging stories with a fellow pregnant woman! Yesterday we went to church, came home, and watched Casino Royale. As dinner was cooking, we heard an enormously loud boom that echoed for about 5-10 seconds. We figured out that it was thunder! That's the loudest thunder we had ever heard. We looked outside for signs of lightning, but didn't see any nearby.
Our dog, Buddy, turned 2 yesterday, we're so proud! He got a new bone to chew on, but was pretty ungrateful so that was all he got.
I had the worst night last night! I woke up twice with a leg cramp, and the second time I woke up, I couldn't get back to sleep for an hour. First it was the leg cramp, then a stuffy nose (I may be getting my fall allergies early this year), then I couldn't breathe very well, ugh! This pregnancy insomnia sucks. On a happier note, though, I can feel the baby moving and hiccuping every day, which gets me so excited for his arrival in a few months. My mother-in-law is throwing a baby shower for me this weekend while my sisters are in town, I'm so excited!

26 Weeks

This weekend started on Friday afternoon with my final HOA meeting with my old community. Good luck to them! Then I stopped by the grocery store and picked up dinner for our friends (Matt and Christy) and us. They brought their cute little 10-month old boy, Josh, he is so adorable! He made me so excited for our own little guy.
We woke up yesterday to thunderstorms, and decided to go deep clean our other house next weekend, since that made it hard to mow the lawn there with all the rain. We spent the morning hanging up pictures and sorting out the office/loft area. That part is finally done! Our new neighborhood also had a BBQ at the park, so we went and met some of our new neighbors. We ate at Johnny Carino's last night, and came home and relaxed afterwards.

I'm 26 weeks now, so I start my last trimester in a week. It's hard to believe it's already here, but also hard to believe it's not over yet! I feel like I've been pregnant forever. We still have some things to do to prepare for the baby, so I guess it's a good thing I'm only at 6 months. I can feel the hiccups now, but only if my hand is on my belly. And my OB said at my appointment this week that I've gained three more pounds, yay!

First Room Down

OK, I finally felt OK with taking a couple pictures at our new house. Things are still pretty messy, but the kitchen is all unpacked, and looked decent today.

Here's a view from the kitchen, out into the dining room and living room. We still need to put our shelf up that will hold our DVR and DVD player, since nothing else will fit above the fireplace with the TV that Doug picked out.

And here's the best part of the whole house... the view! Although, this picture really doesn't do it justice. Anyway, just thought I'd share what I've been up to this past week (unpacking and managing a new house.)

Moving week

Well I won't get too much in this week on the blog. We closed on our house on Monday, and went and picked out a new fridge. We ended up getting a screaming deal on one at Lowe's since their floor model of this stainless steel one was the last one they had in stock. So not only was it like $400 off the original price, we also got 10% off because it was a floor model! They'll deliver that on Friday.
I went to the new place yesterday to vacuum. I got the first floor done when I realized I may as well wait until we're all moved in, since people will be walking all over in there while we move. We've rented a truck Thursday through Saturday, so hopefully we'll be in by the week's end. I also found out while I was there that 1. Half the buttons on the microwave don't work, and 2. They still hadn't added the lock to one of the bedroom windows. I told our sales agent, and she told me two solutions for those: 1. Call the 800 GE number, and 2. Submit a letter about the window. It's too bad we didn't catch those on the final walk-through, but at least she gave us some solutions.
Not much else is new around here, just busy changing our address on all our bills, and putting stuff like gas and electric in our name. My next OB appointment is Monday, where I get to do the diabetes test. Fun! Not looking forward to that. This little guy is kicking and moving as much as ever, but I still haven't felt any hiccups (that I know of.) I read that I should feel those by 25 weeks, so we should see by Friday.
