More Jack Pics

Still no baby.
I should be cleaning my kitchen floor, but I chose to blog instead.
Jack and I have colds.
This is Jack's second cold this month... poor kiddo!
Here he is at the park yesterday with his new $1.00 sand bucket. I thought I would take his sandals off so he didn't get sand in them, but he wouldn't move from this spot because he hated the feel of sand on his feet.
Turns out that sand doesn't taste good.

Gotta love Wednesday's when daddy can hang out with us in the mornings!

If you give a kid a taste of batter... he's going to want a spatula to go with it.

After one taste, he says, "Mo! Mo!" (translation: "More! More!")

Last Weeks With Just One Boy

Doug and I have been loving every minute with Jack lately! We both know that things will be so different when the baby comes. He has no idea what's going on, but does pat my belly every now and then when I ask where the baby is, or where his baby brother is. Here are some pictures from the pool, the fire truck, and having dinner...

My big boy!
Jack about ready to jump in
Follow me! I know the way!
Jack would run from Doug every time Doug tried to take him out of this fire truck parked in front of CostCo. He thought it was pretty cool!
Jack climbed onto this chair all by himself, and tried to tell us he was ready for some hot dogs. Don't forget the ketchup! We had so much food, we invited our awesome neighbors over at the last minute to join us. Jack loves playing with their cute boys, Tyler and Mack! Jack and Tyler were running around the table in circles for a few minutes before they left. How funny!
I had another OB appointment today... only 3 1/2 cm and still 80% effaced. I was having contractions on Friday night when I was lying down, 3 minutes apart for 45 minutes. As soon as I stood up, they disappeared. This boy is a tease already! Hopefully I'll go into labor Thursday night because that's the next time my OB is on call. Otherwise, I'll be induced on Monday. Wish us luck!

Blowing Bubbles

Here are some pictures of Jack enjoying about two minutes worth of some bubbles from Sunday morning.
He's had a runny nose for the past week, and had a fever of 101 off and on Saturday and Sunday. His nose seems to be running less, so that's good. I hope he feels better soon!
Also, I had another check-up today. I'm now dilated to a 3 and 80% effaced. Not much change, but I'll take any progress I can!

36 Week Check-Up

Not much change in the last week... 2.5 cm dilated and 70% effaced. Just keeping everyone informed!

Outside Boy

Yes, I am still here and still pregnant. My contractions have slowed way down, so I guess I was just a little dehydrated. I'm only 36 weeks right now, so it's still early... unfortunately. The leg cramps, hearty appetite, baby limbs in my ribs, sore hips, exhaustion, swollen feet, constantly full bladder, clothes that are all too small, and huge baby movements will all have to last a little longer.

Despite all those cons, being pregnant is definitely a blessing! I know not everyone will get to experience this, so I do feel lucky, also. It's just hard sometimes when you're at the bottom of the ninth, and the end still doesn't seem to be anywhere in sight. All the primary kids got up in sacrament meeting yesterday and sang a different version of "Popcorn Popping" for mother's day. It brought me to tears after the first line. Being a mom is the greatest gift!

Jack has discovered the magic of being outdoors with the nice weather, and has decided that he wants to be outside every waking moment, if possible. He knows that I won't take him out too often, which is because he runs away from me if I do. Can you imagine seeing an 8-month pregnant woman chasing a toddler down the sidewalk? I'd probably laugh if I saw that, too! As soon as Doug gets home from work each day, Jack demands to be outdoors. Saturday was just beautiful, so we spent a good hour and a half just sitting outside, mowing the lawn, going for a walk, etc.

He's quite the helper when daddy needs to mow the lawn.

And here's his latest and greatest trick! You'll notice he's a little sidetracked being outside.

It was a good thing I didn't go into labor last Tuesday because I was throwing a baby shower for my friend Cecily that next Thursday evening. She's due June 28th, and is having a girl. I'm so excited for Ryan and her! Her wonderful mom helped out with so much, I felt like I was hardly doing anything except providing the games and location. I hope you had fun, Cec! I found out yesterday that my mom can't come out until June 1st, so if I can last for 2 more weeks, that would be perfect. Of course, things never go how you plan them to...

So I was having contractions again yesterday for a couple hours every 7-10 minutes apart. I called my OB and they said to drink lots of water and take a warm bath, and if they don't slow down, to go to labor and delivery. I was also having some moderate lower back pain. The contractions didn't slow down, so we drove to labor and delivery where they hooked me and baby up to monitors. They did the dreaded cervix check, and I was only 2 cm dilated and 40% effaced. The baby was monitored for 20 more minutes or so, where they said to drink LOTS of fluids and hopefully that would help.

Here I am at the computer, drinking my 4th bottled water for the day, feeling constantly like I've had too much to drink. I'm still having contractions, but not as strong. No baby yet, but I don't think it will be much longer now!

Where My Girls At?

My parents and sisters all met up here last Wednesday for my cousin Camille's wedding. It was so much fun having all my sisters together! We haven't all been together since Christmas 2007. Isn't that sad? Unfortunately, I failed to take too many pictures. But here are the ones I did take. The rest I confiscated from my sisters and dad.

We had fun quoting movies all weekend. Yeah, these are my peeps! Doug also got his new Vanagon this weekend from St. George on Saturday and Sunday, and had fun golfing down there with his bros... for FREE, thanks to our neighbor! Busy weekend!

Yesterday surprised me with some false labor already... contractions every 5 minutes for an hour, and then like 8 in an hour later on yesterday evening. Guess I should take it easy for a little longer. Jack had his 18-month check-up today and had to get 3 shots! I had to hold his arms down while he screamed. Poor guy! I got him a happy meal in the drive-through afterwards because I felt so bad, but he fell asleep before he got home to eat it.
